About Ian Hobbs

Ian Hobbs is an award winning photographer / designer working across a wide range of media projects. He has worked closely with many arts and cultural organisations.

He graduated from COFA in 1984 with a bachelor of Fine Arts and a practice which focused on multi-media and photography and language. For many years he worked in the conference industry doing technical work while practicing as an art photographer. Two early commissions from Museums and Galleries Organisation and Object consolidated his passion for media communication and design. Working across media and consulting on marketing strategy led to further projects where art direction, photography and design sensibilities were key ingedients of his growing practice. 10 years ago interactive and web media were added into his skill base. It became difficult to manage the multi headed practice so codey was born to hand the web side of things and ian hobbs photography became ian hobbs media. He has been teaching in the areas of new media design and fine arts. He has written numerous courses exploring the design and communication aspects of working in web based media today. Codey is a small web design consultancy working on design and web development.
